Breezy Point Says No to Gravel Pit

The Breezy Point City Council has denied a permit for Breezy Point Sand and Gravel to extract gravel from a 60 acre parcel off Buschmann Road. The action upholds the findings of The Planning and Zoning Commission. The P and Z said a gravel pit was eligible for a conditional use permit in a wooded residential area, but not crushing and washing of the material. An appeal of the Council's decision could still be made to the District Court.
