Oberstar Works to prevent tapping of Great Lakes

Minnesota Congressman Jim Oberstar is leading the charge against tapping fresh water out of the Great Lakes. Under the compact, eight states including Minnesota would prohibit remote states or countries from tapping into the lakes, one of the largest sources of fresh water on the planet. The legislation backed by the 8th district DFL-er would provide congressional approval of the compact.
